Weymouth Woods
April 21, 2007

Thirteen kids from Rich Park and Heritage Park spent a good portion of Earth Day enjoying the Weymouth Woods Sandhills Nature Preserve. They witnessed a ranger banding a Ruby-throated Hummingbird (so small!!) and learned about the longleaf pine and two creatures which rely on it -- the fox squirrel and the red-cockaded woodpecker, and hiked several different trails.
