December Trip
Dec. 16, 2006

On a sunny December morning, Heritage Park went to Back Achers Christmas Tree Farm to pick out a Christmas tree. Mr. Frank Barick, the 87-year-old owner, talked to the kids about his farm and the trees he grows. The kids chose a 5-year-old Leyland Cyprus and took turns sawing it down. After shaking off the dead needles, we loaded the tree and headed to Lake Wheeler for a picnic lunch. The kids loved the park's playground, skipping stones on the lake, and wading in the water. We even tried some fishing.
