Siegel Sculpture
March 31, 2006

As a volunteer with the North Carolina Museum of Art, I had the opportunity to assist artist Steven Siegel create a new outdoor sculpture in the museum park. With a crew of volunteers and a couple full-time assistants, Steven installed the sculpture -- made of stacked newspapers, nailed together and wired to a frame, which was built around a tree -- in less than two weeks. Here are some pictures of us building the geology-inspired piece, To see Jennie smile, on a glorious spring day.
